in the
Asteraceae
family.
In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is not classified as it is not native to Queensland.
Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.
Weed of National Significance. A category 2,3,4,5 restricted invasive plant under the Biosecurity Act 2014. A high priority invasive plant listed in the Fraser Coast Regional Council Local Government Area Biosecurity Plan 2022. In the past planted as a dune stabiliser. Was established at Booral however may now be eradicated. Is likely still present on the south-east coast of K'gari (Fraser Island). Recorded there by helicopter survey in 2018.

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is
listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.
