This species is rapidly spreading in the region. Deep taproot makes physical removal difficult. A high priority invasive plant listed as locally significant on K'gari in the Fraser Coast Regional Council Local Government Area Biosecurity Plan 2022.
It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is
listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.
