Species information

Diospyros geminata     (R.Br.) F.Muell.

This native tree is commonly known as scaly ebony.

Diospyros geminata is described as a "dicot" in the Ebenaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.

Reported at 44 Fraser Coast localities: Aldershot, Bauple, Bauple Forest, Bidwill, Boompa, Booral, Burrum Heads, Burrum River, Craignish, Doongul, Duckinwilla, Dundathu, Dundowran Beach, Eli Waters, Gigoomgan, Glenorchy, Glenwood, Gootchie, Granville, Gunalda, Howard, Kanigan, Magnolia, Malarga, Maryborough, Mount Urah, Pacific Haven, Paterson, River Heads, St Mary, Takura, Talegalla Weir, Tandora, Teddington, Tiaro, Tinana, Tinnanbar, Toogoom, Torquay, Urangan, Urraween, Woocoo, Yengarie, Yerra.
