This native shrub is commonly known as sticky hop-bush.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.
Only one recent record in the Fraser Coast region on K'gari (Fraser Island). See Dodonaea viscosa subsp. burmanniana which is the most common subspecies in the region.
