Species information

Acetosella vulgaris     Fourr.

This introduced groundcover is commonly known as sheep sorrel.

Acetosella vulgaris is described as a "dicot" in the Polygonaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is not classified as it is not native to Queensland. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Previously known as Acetosella angiocarpa but now known as Rumex acetosella (Australian Plant Census). Recorded on K'gari (Fraser Island) and Beaver Rock Road. A naturalised species listed in Weeds in Australia (http://www.environment.gov.au/biodiversity/invasive/weeds/index.html). 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census but is not listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.
