Species information

Sphaeromorphaea australis     (Less.) Kitam.

This native groundcover is commonly known as spreading nutheads.

Sphaeromorphaea australis is described as a "dicot" in the Asteraceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Previously known as Epaltes australis (Queensland Flora Census 2014). 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.

Reported at 31 Fraser Coast localities: Aldershot, Bauple Forest, Beelbi Creek, Booral, Burrum Heads, Cherwell, Craignish, Doongul, Duckinwilla, Dundathu, Maryborough, Maryborough West, Mount Urah, Owanyilla, Pacific Haven, Point Vernon, Poona, St Mary, Sunshine Acres, Takura, Talegalla Weir, Teddington, Teebar, Tiaro, Tinana, Tuan, Tuan Forest, Urraween, Walligan, Woocoo, Yengarie.
