Species information

Polymeria calycina     R.Br.

This native groundcover is commonly known as pink bindweed.

Polymeria calycina is described as a "dicot" in the Convolvulaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Flowering Yengarie March 2016. Both broad-leaved and very narrow leaved forms occur (Glenn Leiper, Jan Glazebrook, Denis Cox & Kerry Rathie. 2008. Mangroves to Mountains). 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.

Reported at 23 Fraser Coast localities: Antigua, Bauple Forest, Beaver Rock, Booral, Brooweena, Craignish, Gootchie, Granville, K'gari, Magnolia, Point Vernon, Poona, Prawle, Sunshine Acres, Takura, Talegalla Weir, Tandora, Teebar, Tiaro, Tinnanbar, Walkers Point, Walligan, Yengarie.
