Species information

Rhynchosia minima var. australis     (Benth.) C.Moore

This native vine or climber is commonly known as native pea.

Rhynchosia minima var. australis is described as a "dicot" in the Leguminosae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Pods with short fine hairs and long tubercular-based hairs. Moderately common in the region, usually on heavy soils. Flowers mostly summer-autumn. (Stanley and Ross. 1995. Flora of south-eastern Queensland, Volume 1). 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census but is not listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.
