Species information

Utricularia caerulea     L.

This native groundcover is commonly known as blue bladderwort.

Utricularia caerulea is described as a "dicot" in the Lentibulariaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Uncommon wetland species in the Fraser Coast region recorded at Tinnanbar and K'gari (Fraser Island). Also reported at Talegalla Weir and Maaroom. Listed as a special least concern species in Queensland (https://www.qld.gov.au/environment/plants-animals/plants/protected-plants/harvesting). Regarded as a wetland species in Queensland WetlandInfo.

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.

Reported at 8 Fraser Coast localities: Beelbi Creek, Bidwill, Boonooroo Plains, Maaroom, Poona, Talegalla Weir, Tinnanbar, Tuan Forest.
