Species information

Bridelia exaltata     F.Muell.

This native tree is commonly known as brush ironbark.

Bridelia exaltata is described as a "dicot" in the Phyllanthaceae family.

Flagged as a potential locally significant species in the Fraser Coast Region. In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Northern limit is the Maryborough area (Gwen Harden, Hugh Nicholson, Bill McDonald, Nan Nicholson, Terry Tame, John Williams. 2014. Rainforest Plants of Australia.) 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.

Reported at 12 Fraser Coast localities: Bauple, Doongul, Gigoomgan, Gootchie, Gundiah, Magnolia, Malarga, Mount Urah, Owanyilla, Poona, Teddington, Yerra.
