This native tree is commonly known as cupaniopsis.
Cupaniopsis sp. (Watalgan A.R.Bean 8611) is described as a "dicot" in the Sapindaceae family.
In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.
Distribution is north of the Fraser Coast region between Bundaberg and Gladstone. Includes some plants previously included in Cupaniopsis shirleyana. Differs from Cupaniopsis shirleyana by its fewer (4 to 8) larger (4 to 15 cm long) leaflets that are markedly different in shape and size (https://apps.des.qld.gov.au/species-search/details/?id=14648).
It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census but is not listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.
