Species information

Melaleuca viminalis     (Sol. ex Gaertn.) G.Don ex Loudon

This native tree is commonly known as weeping bottlebrush.

Melaleuca viminalis is described as a "dicot" in the Myrtaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

 Regarded as a wetland species in Queensland WetlandInfo.

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census but is not listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.

Reported at 28 Fraser Coast localities: Bidwill, Boompa, Burrum Heads, Doongul, Duckinwilla, Gigoomgan, Glenorchy, Granville, Gundiah, Howard, Magnolia, Maryborough, Mount Urah, Pacific Haven, Pioneers Rest, Point Vernon, St Mary, Sunshine Acres, Susan River, Takura, Talegalla Weir, Teddington, Tiaro, Tinana, Urangan, Walligan, Yengarie, Yerra.
