Species information

Isotoma axillaris     Lindl.

This native groundcover is commonly known as Australian harebell.

Isotoma axillaris is described as a "dicot" in the Campanulaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Listed as a special least concern species in Queensland (https://www.qld.gov.au/environment/plants-animals/plants/protected-plants/harvesting). Recorded just outside the western boundary of the Fraser Coast region at Mt Walsh. https://inaturalist.ala.org.au/observations/153662597, https://inaturalist.ala.org.au/observations/75255713, https://inaturalist.ala.org.au/observations/75021760, https://inaturalist.ala.org.au/observations/210646988. 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census but is not listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.
